Baker Campaign Vows to Fight “Washington as Usual” Politics With Online Ad
Baker: “Washington isn’t listening, but I hear you loud and clear.”
Conway, Ark., - United States Senate Candidate Gilbert Baker announced today the launch of an online advertisement which promotes Baker’s message: “Washington isn’t listening to you.” This comes as nine-year Congressman John Boozman announces his entry into the U.S. Senate race.
“Washington isn’t listening to the people, but I hear you loud and clear,” Sen. Baker said. “Arkansans are looking for leaders who will be part of the solution, not those who have been part of the problem. I am firmly committed to running for U.S. Senate to put an end to the status quo in our nation’s capitol.”
“People across Arkansas tell me they’re tired of government bailouts and out-of-control spending in Washington. They want a U.S. Senator who will represent their conservative values and not side with President Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi,” Sen. Baker said.
Sen. Baker believes Washington is broken and it’s time for new leadership; time for citizen legislators to take control and show the irresponsible establishment what it means to be fiscally responsible.
“I support a federal balanced budget amendment, extending the Bush tax cuts, and a free-market economy. I would also support an amendment for 12-year Congressional term limits because it ensures loyalty to voters, not lobbyists and union money,” Baker said. “I am firmly committed to being a check and balance on the Washington establishment.”
This week, a Rasmussen Poll shows Sen. Baker ahead of Blanche Lincoln by 19 points, 52% - 33%, and Public Policy Polling shows Sen. Baker beating Lincoln by 15 points, 50% - 35%.
“The fact that I’m so far ahead of a two-term Democratic Senator just shows how vulnerable Sen. Lincoln is,” Sen. Baker said. “The combination of her plummeting poll numbers and my common sense conservative message resonating with the people, ensure that Blanche Lincoln’s days in D.C. are numbered.”

This week’s headlines read “More Bailouts. Record Spending. Record Deficits. ”
Washington DC isn’t listening but I hear you loud and clear…
Hi… I’m State Senator Gilbert Baker and I’m a candidate for United States Senate.
In Arkansas, we work together to provide commonsense leadership like balancing our state budget.
Washington is broken and we need new leadership. It’s time to balance the federal budget, say no to big government bailouts and massive deficit spending. We need a check and balance to Barack Obama’s extreme agenda. .
Both parties in Congress have represented their own self-interest. It’s time for new ideas and new conservative leadership for America. Most importantly, it’s time for Congress to represent you...
I’m State Senator Gilbert Baker and I approved this message because I believe in a Government of the people, by the people, and for the people.
